I traveled through that region on a bicycle once. I love places where there’s lots of open space and not so many people. Maybe more importantly, little threat there ever will be more people there. By the way, speaking as an old farm boy, I don’t think that’s a cabin. Most likely it was a hay barn.
In my opinion – this image would look great (if not better) in black and white. Just my opinion, nice image all the same.
I’m always hesitant to put images in B&W. I just don’t have a good system for consistently getting good B&W images yet. I have a great Photoshop plugin for it, but the trial has expired and I’d have to fork over $200 for the full version. I’m cheap and lazy.
It is something have committed myself to doing more of in the future.
Hooray!! Love the high def :-) This is a great shot – reminding me of my childhood exploring the prairies of Alberta. :-)
This shot reminds me of some photos in a National Geographic Article about the area and it’s general abandonment and beauty.
Exactly how did several perfectly made grass rolls and a well upkept 5-line barbed wire fence communicate “abandonment” to you?
It didn’t. Why you think I thought that?
