Those are the new windmills, as far as we could tell in August 2008. We saw them spinning. The abandoned wind farm is to the right of this photo (east) and is “on” the South Point access road; we went right past it on the way to the point.

It always astounds me how varied the landscape is in Hawaii. What is that off in the distance in the photo, windmills or something else?
