When we stayed in Rome, we decided to get away from all the hustle and bustle so found a hostel near the beach, which was of course very close to Ostia Antica! After checking out the ruins in Rome, we actually found these ruins in Ostia Antica to be more complete and much larger than most of the others we saw! We spent two days exploring these ruins and would highly recommend that everyone take at least a day out of their tour of Rome to check these out. Very easy train ride from Rome to get there too!
