Wow – cool shot! So could you really see the Milky Way in the sky like this? I don’t think I have ever seen it in ‘real time’ before. Great job on this one!
Astrophotos almost never look like what they do to your eyes. This is because a camera has longer exposure times. You can make the night sky as bright as you want depending on how long you want the exposure to be.
Wow, what an amazing shot. Really captures the beauty of it well. I tried to capture the stars in Namibia last summer as it was a lot like this. I didn’t have a tripod so it was difficult, but I got a mediocre shot. Nothing like this though, truly beautiful!
what’s your aperture and exposure on a shot like this, Gary?
14mm lens, f/2.8, ISO 1600, 30 seconds
I should also note that my camera was mounted to a telescope with a motor to track the movement of the Earth, but I’m not sure it really mattered for a 30 second exposure.
Wow…. Just… wow.
Did you really take that pic?… Oh my, it is stunning! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I really took that photo :) All the photos on my site are mine.
Wow, this is an absolutely beautiful picture. Shows just how awesome the world truly is… Thanks for sharing, great way to start my weekend :-)
