I don’t consider myself the greatest nature photographer. In Mulu, however, I had a chance to try my hand at photographing several small species of animal. I was notified by someone on Flickr that this is a Redhawk Dragonfly. I actually met two guys from New Zealand in Mulu who were there to study dragonflies.

Hello Gary,
Very pleased to see your blog, as I am thinking ahead to our winter holiday for seeing dragonflies. I thought maybe East Malaysia this year.
How do you get about? Are you driving or using public transport?
I love the red ones – great shot!
I tried to catch one of them in vain in Korea for two years.
Lucky you :D!
The blurry background adds the required detail to the dragonfly in the forefront.
