When I arrived in Australia I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was nominated for a 2010 Bloggie Award. The Bloggies is sort of like the Oscars for blogs. Being one of the five finalists is a pretty big honor. I’ve personally met several other finalists in the travel category, and it is really a great group of bloggers.
I normally don’t like pandering my readers for votes, so I’ll only mention this once, and only because this is one of the biggest awards on the internet. (Well, it isn’t really an award, its a contest) If you could, please take a few seconds to vote for Everything Everywhere as Best Travel Weblog.
While you are at it, here are some other great blogs in other categories you should consider voting for:
- Rome Photo Blog – Best European Blog
- My Marrakesh – Best African Blog
- Medellin Living – Best Latin American Blog
Awards will be given out at the South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, TX in March.

I’m impressed of everything-everywhere.com , I need to say. Really not often do I encounter a blog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you have got hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very blissful that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for something regarding this.
nice site guys
Don’t know if I misinterpreted your “when I arrived in Australia. . . “, but if you are in Sydney area and would like to see some wild and natural beauty of the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park, please contact me. [email protected]
Congrats on the nomination. Well done!
Thanks for the offer, but I’m left Sydney and am already in Thailand.
Great blog! I love reading about all of your adventures! I hope to go to as many places as you have. I voted for your blog! I hope you win
Unbelievable, u haven’t been to mainland China!!
I was going to go in 2007, but I was traveling really slow and wanted to avoid the winter. By the time I would have gone in 2008, they stopped issuing visas before the Olympics.
I’m hoping to visit China later this year.
Good luck Gary! And thanks for mentioning Medellin Living – I was happily surprised to see it made the finals.
P.S. I may have failed to mention that YOU are one of the two favourite travel blogs nominated! Just in case you didn’t know ;) – I enjoy your blog tremendously!
This is going to be so hard! Two of my fave travel blogs are nominated this year! But, of course, I will vote for both…! Good Luck!!
We have a blog about travel, and we would like to invite you to visit us and you can find to translate on the right side of the page.
Thank you very much, and we hope you enjoy.

I’d like to, but I seem to remember you saying that you would not be entering or asking for anymore votes for this kind of thing.
And As Nabeel said, I really don’t get that site?! Oscar’s standard it’s not!
Best of Luck. I’ve tried to vote at the given link but didn’t understand the page.
Wow, you are finalist for the Oscar! Well done. Please count my vote.
