whey do people put their locks on the corner of the fence
interesting. but why locks, would you know? i mean why not as simple as ribbons or key chains or something?

This is also a tradition on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence where lovers put a lock on and throw the key into the Arno together. However, last time I went there, the powers that be had removed the old ones, including mine : ( but the good news is that people have continued to put new locks on.
