Gros Morne is a park that Canadians are probably more familiar with than Americans, which is really too bad because it is an amazing place.
Located on the western coast of Newfoundland, Gros Morne is a playground for geologists and photographers, both of which I coincidentally count myself as.
Gros Morne peak is the second highest point in Newfoundland and offers great vistas of the park. The highlight for me was taking a boat ride on Western Brook Pond, which is actually an inland fjord! (see photo). I’d love to return to spend more time hiking in the park and taking photos from the top of Brook Pond
Located on the opposite end of Newfoundland as St. John’s, it is probably going to require a fair amount of driving no matter where you come from.
