After almost 6 months of planning and preparation, we have finally begun the first Everything Everywhere travel photography tour!
Our group of amateur photographers coming from the United States, Canada, UK and Portugal assembled in San Francisco to begin our 2-week trip to capture some of the most beautiful scenery that the United States has to offer.
Today we are in Oakhurst, California where we are using as a base for exploring Yosemite National Park. We’ll be spending a full day in the park today before heading down to Bakersfield and then Las Vegas through Death Valley.
Over the next two weeks, I’ll be sharing some of the photos the tour members take on a daily basis.
I want to give a special thanks to the folks at Smugmug, who have donated a full one-year Smugmug Pro account to everyone on the trip. I’ve been using Smugmug for over 3 years now and I’ve been a big advocate of hosting my images there.
I also want to thanks the folks at Scottevest who have provided travel vests for everyone on the trip. This was a total surprise for everyone on the trip and, not surprising, everyone seems to love them :) I even had the vests hand delivered to me by Scottevest CEO Scott Jordan who was in San Francisco. We explored some of the city, including walking over the Golden Gate Bridge, which is something I had never done before.

Such an awesome trip. Enjoy the adventure.
I think you are going to get some stunning photographs at the places you will visit – more so in Sedona. San Diego too will have some really good photo opportunities, and most importantly the best Marghertias!
I have been in San Francisco many years ago. I would love to go again sometimes. A beautiful city

I LOVE Yosemite National Park, it’s one of the most majestic places in the world! I’m new to your blog, and find your sense of adventure and story so inspiring! Anyhow, I hope you’ve taken some great photos of Yosemite, a la Adam Ansell style! My photograph of El Capitan and the Merced River was once featured in a travel magazine, if you care to look: http://www.blogmetravel.com/2009/08/anyone-who-loves-outdoors-will-find.html
Was through this area a while back. AMAZING places.
I really envy you!
Love those places.
Walk down at Grand Canyon to the Indian Point (as far as I remember). It is half the way dow, and it is amazing.
I’m now rocking Smugmug after your recommendation Gary. Great product. Just need to find a better photo uploader for my mac!
Smugmug is awesome. It is hard to think that I once didn’t use it.
I started using SmugMug this year and really like it. As for your photo tour, I’ve spent a lot of time in some of the places you are visiting. I am really curious how photos in Bakersfield will turn out. I’ve been there many times and I will just be nice and say it has a reputation for not being the prettiest area of California :)
Bakersfield is more of a place to sleep than a stop for photography :)
Hope you’ll be stopping at the North Rim of Grand Canyon, the mellow side of the Big Ditch. And stop in to the visitor center to say hello. Everything but Bakersfield looks great.
Wish I was on this tour Gary. I may steal the itinerary! Looks like a great South West trip.
