I just flew into Sydney, and boy are my arms tired!
…Ok, I don’t think I’ve ever used that line before on this site, but I just had to do it.
My flight from DFW to Sydney was actually more than 16 hours because we were delayed in DFW for deicing, then I had a layover in Brisbane for an hour and then another 1 hour flight to actually get to Sydney.
By the end of the trip I smelled horrible having been in (and slept in) the same clothes for over a day.
I spent Sunday with my Assistant Amy in Fort Worth and got to see her kids again which I haven’t seen in a year. They are 5 and 3 now. I’m glad I spent the day in Texas, else I would have tacked on another 3 hours to the total flight time with my flight from Belize.
I’ll be here for the next week for the Australian Open of Surfing and after that I’ll be heading to one of my most coveted destinations: Lord Howe Island!
Also, because I crossed the International Dateline, I totally missed Monday, February 13. So even though this is a Monday Update, I’m actually doing it Tuesday here.
Traveling around the world isn’t easy. I’m able to do it thanks to my great sponsors.
Scottevest is announcing something really cool. If you think of Scottevest you probably think of pockets. They are adding something new to the mix.
I didn’t think it was possible to really do anything innovative with clothing, but they have managed to, with something as simple as magnets.
My favorite jacket is the Fleece 5.0, which has zip off sleeves. The thing is, I’ve probably taken the sleeves off maybe 2 times because it is sort of a pain to zip them on and off. Their new Transformer Jacket can be converted from a jacket to a vest in literally seconds. You have to see it to believe it. I really hope they expand this concept into the rest of their product line.
I will be heading to San Francisco in early March to speak at Eye for Travel’s Social Media Strategies conference as I talk about my involvement in the Wanderers in Residence program with G.
G also has moved to Pinterest. Check out their board of locations that we’ll visit in May during our photography tour through the Southwest.
Oh, unless someone backs out, the photography tour is now FULL!
