Amateur Traveler Interview – World Heritage Sites of Israel and Palestine

I recently made my record 10th appearance on the Amateur Traveler Podcast with my This Week in Travel co-host, Chris Christensen. This time I was there to talk about my recent trip to Israel and Palestine, and their UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

  1. I’m not sure if you’ve touched on this in previous interviews, but I was wondering how you view the carbon footprint of air travel. Traveling the world typically provides a great appreciation for our planet, but paradoxically, the immense carbon emissions that come from flying also endanger our planet’s future. As someone who loves travel, I find this paradox challenging. How do you deal with this issue, if it’s on your radar? I find carbon offsets to be promising, although you have to be careful to find legitimate and effective offsets, but I’m interested in other ideas as well!
