Travel to New Brunswick

New Brunswick is one of three maritime provinces in Canada. The province is bilingual in that the local residents speak both English and French. The province was formed after it was partitioned from Nova Scotia, another province in Canada. Travel to New Brunswick is gaining popularity over the last few decades or so with more tourists discovering its natural beauty.

Travel to New BrunswickDespite being a maritime province, there are a few things that help distinguish New Brunswick from other Canadian provinces. Unlike the other two maritime provinces (Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island) that are bordered by water, New Brunswick is sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean and there is little or minimal impact from the ocean with regards to its climate, economy and culture. In terms of its geography, one distinctive feature of New Brunswick is the major river systems found all over the island. Some of the notable rivers found within the province include Saint John River, St. Croix River, and Kouchibouguac River, to name a few.

In terms of climate, New Brunswick has a humid continental climate. The winter is therefore milder in some areas of the province, while the far northern part of the province features subarctic climate. Hence, the winter in this part of the province can be harsh.
