Frank Sinatra is alive and well in Poland
I was pleasantly surprised with Poland. I enjoyed the food, I enjoyed the people I met and it is much more affordable than the rest of Western Europe. The fact that they aren’t in the Euro zone probably has a lot to do with that.
I am positive I’ll be returning to Poland someday.
Tomorrow I’ll be back in Berlin where I’ll be spending the next week at ITB-Berlin, which is the world’s biggest travel and tourism convention. Most of time will be spent in meetings and drinking, which will be a nice change of pace from what I’ve been doing the last month.
I’ve been trying to cut down on the number of conferences I attend each year, but ITB is one of the big ones that I make an exception for.
Next week, I’ll be starting a 2 week road trip through Germany to visit the remaining 27 UNESCO sites I haven’t visited. It is going to be epic and I’ll be writing more about it later this week. I love road trips and I am really looking forward to exploring more of the country of my ancestors. Hopefully I’ll have a sim card in my iPhone by then and I’ll be able to post more things in real time.
Here is a very very rough map of the route I’ll be taking through Germany:

There are only a few seats left on my May Italian photography tour with G Adventures. If you are thinking about it, I highly recommend at resering your spot ASAP. Last year we had a waiting list and it looks like it is going to happen again this year.

I think it’s really cool that most bloggers who have been to Poland likes the food there. I’ve got to admit that before going to Poland, I didn’t think greatly about their food, but after my trip I can’t wait to go back.
It’s such a great country and everything is still extremely cheap – love it! :)
I think the reason is that you don’t see many Polish restaurants, so most people are not familiar with Polish food before they go.
This post officially has me considering a trip to Poland now. It was pretty low on my list of countries but your post has me intrigued :)
