House Made of Bottles in the Route 66 Ghost Town of Calico, California

Made in the 1950's, this house is constructed out of over 5,000 bottles.

  2. This vaguely reminds me of an Earthship, whose foundation is crafted from used soda cans and tires!

    Calico is not located on Route 66. It is located in Yermo, north of the I-15. Route 66 runs parallel to the I-40 which is much further south. Calico has so many interesting things to see but the bottle house is #1! There is a bottle tree ranch, consisting of about 400 bottle trees manufactured by a retired man in Helendale…which is right on Route 66.
