Workers during an excavation in the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt

The Valley of the Kings, across the Nile from the current city of Luxor, is the known resting place for most of the rulers of Egypt. Many of the famous tombs such as that of King Tutankhamen were found here. There are still a few pharaohs who’s tombs have never been found.
