		<description>Great post Chris! Congrats on the Lonely Planets nomination too! I am also thrilled to be nominated for 3 of them and so glad that I am not running against you, Gary or Craig! lol! &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We loved Knossis too ( although not Heraklion) and not too far away beautiful Chania ( with fab archaeology museum)! &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We did not book ahead either ( almost never book anything ahead on our open ended world tour) and even splurged on a private tour which we felt well worth the costs since educating our child was a major reason for our visit.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt; We were there in June without crowds as well, July and August is when all of Greece gets over run and too hot.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Well worth a tour and visit!</description>
